I decided to run back home and grab my camera and drive around taking pictures. There's not that much snow up here and what we've got had been blown around into nice sized drifts, but not impossible. Here are some pictures:
This is a picture of a plowed street with snow piled up in the center....the "MO" in Ada until the crews can take it somewhere. Sometimes this snow stays piled in the middle of the street for a week.
Here are two pictures of the south side of the
high school from Hwy 200. Notice the grass
showing through, but the drifts halfway up the doors near the building.
Snow blows around here like crazy and creates interesting drifting landscapes. This is a house on the northwest corner of town, the last house before a field on the west and north sides. Notice how there is no snow near the house, but sizeable drifts to the north curving around the house.
This is my second favorite picture of today. Here is an apartment complex on the west side of town that's been dug out. Those dark lumps on the right side of the path are big fat birds hanging around. Right before I snapped the picture a bunch flew away, so it was pretty packed there with huge birds for a while.
And finally, my favorite picture of the day, a block south from my apartment. I love it when snow hangs on evergreen trees.
So, we didn't get that much snow, but as you can see, it sure blew around a lot.
BTW: 10 days until Christmas...
