Monday Monday...

Good morning! I'm sitting in a hotel lobby enjoying coffee and waiting for my partners in crime to gather before we head on over to a workshop we're having today and Tuesday at the Mayo Civic Center. To be honest, I'm looking forward to it and not looking forward to it. I'm looking forward to it because I should be able to learn quite a lot and I should be able to get a lot of programs "waiting in the wings" off the ground. I'm not looking forward to it because it will be a lot of work and the folks I'm with are mostly "home grown" Moorhead-ites. They love their town, they love their school, and they sometimes (unintentially) let that limit themselves regarding possibilities and conceptual flexibility. I have to remember that and keep myself toned down a bit, patient, and "nice". All in all though, it will be a great conference and I'm looking forward to spending a little quality time with these folks. I believe that the time professionals spend "away" from their home base is a time for additional cohesion and teambuilding.

Time is running out so I've got to be quick here...Yesterday was awesome! I went to a Twins game with my mom and sisters. That was sooooooo fun!!! :) We need to do stuff like that more often. We went to Target field and for all but one of us (my middle little sister) it was our first time in that new stadium. The ballpark is as ballparks should be. I don't think there's a "bad seat" in that entire place. It blows the Metrodome away, which was like playing in your grandmother's basement with weird lighting, weird smells, and awkward seating arrangements! Yay for Target field!!! We took the light rail from Mall of America and although it was close to an hour's ride, it was much better than driving into the city and finding parking (as well as getting out of the city afterwards. Then I spent time with my middle little sister waiting for my coworkers to pick me up for the workshop as they went through the cities. It was a good day.

So now I must go, be professional, and learn stuff. See ya later!

Puns Are So Cool

Well hey! Long time no see! Boy has it been busy. And exhausting -but in the bestest way. Week 2 of back to school resumed today and I've finally caught up with stuff and have "space" in my brain for more than work. Of course, I did office stuff until 7:30 tonight, but who's keeping track? haha

There's this great article in the news today out of Moorhead. Let's see if I can finagle a link to it. It has to do with an interestingly dressed lady at the Moorhead Walgreens. You can find it here

Fantastic!!!

Hey blog reader!! Guess what Sunday is???

INTERNATIONAL TALK LIKE A PIRATE DAY!!!!!!!!!! The day I've been waiting for since LAST international talk like a pirate day. Guess what I'll be doing on that day? ...well, yeah, besides talking like a pirate. DUH. ...I will be at a Twins game!!! I've missed my boys! No cable has been HARD just because I'm missing all the games!!! And, I haven't had time to loiter in a bar or eating establishment or someone else's house, so I've missed them. Listened to some on the radio, but mostly I've missed them. :( If they are in the series this year I don't know WHAT I'm gonna do! Haha. Yep. My sisters and I are treating my mom to a Twins game. I am really looking forward to spending some quality "girl" time. I really hope we can do this kind of stuff more often in the future. It's good to do some "bonding" while doing something all of us enjoy!! Then, I am truckin down to Rochester for a conference. That's the icky part of the day. BUT, if I'm in the right mood, I'll just talk like a pirate all night and drive whoever I'm rooming with NUTS. It will be great!!

So, in case the article link wasn't funny enough for you, here's something to bring a smile to your face...but you have to use your brain!!!
